How to Master the Art of Selling Online

Scale to $10K/Month using Timeless Strategies

Are you struggling to turn your e-commerce store into a profitable business? Watching competitors scale while you're stuck at the same revenue level month after month?

I've been there. Ten years ago, I started my first e-commerce business with nothing but an idea and determination. Today, I've built multiple 7-figure brands generating over $10M in online sales.

Sales isn't just a modern concept of ads and landing pages. It's one of humanity's oldest skills—mastered long before Shopify existed.

The cavemen who convinced their tribes to hunt in dangerous weather, the ancient traders who negotiated in bustling marketplaces, and the merchants who crafted irresistible offers all understood the same principles that power successful e-commerce brands today.

Through years of testing and optimizing with real customers across multiple brands, I've identified the key psychological factors that drive purchasing decisions in the digital marketplace.

In this newsletter, I'll share the exact framework I use to bridge the gap between where you are now and the profitable, automated e-commerce business you desire—the same approach that lets me run my businesses in just 4 hours per week.

Before we dive in, if you're looking to grow your e-commerce brand in 2025, I'm now taking applications for direct 1-1 mentorship.

For beginners aiming for your first $10K and established brands scaling to $1M, apply here.

The Timeless Nature of Sales

Let's start with a simple truth: Human nature hasn't really changed for thousands of years.

Just like a caveman had to convince his tribe to hunt on a rainy day, today's entrepreneurs need to master the same art of persuasion. It's about attention hacking - grabbing the right people's focus and laying out a compelling case.

We live in the attention economy. Your job is to convert attention into dollars by selling the dream and showing how it improves your customers' lives.

Sales isn't just about transactions; it's woven into our daily lives. Whether it's convincing a friend to try a new lunch spot or justifying a lazy day instead of hitting the gym, we're always selling or being sold to.

The Big Three: Time, Quality & Cost

In online sales, everything boils down to three main factors:

Time

It's all about convenience. We're all running on tight schedules, so products that save us time have massive appeal. Like that supplement delivered to your door that cuts down on meal prep and shopping.

Quality

This is your standout factor. It's what makes your product better than the rest. Think about those high-quality ingredients in your supplement that outperform inconsistent homemade alternatives.

Cost

This one's tricky. You can go low as the budget option, or price high and justify it with value. Sometimes, being cost-effective can be a significant differentiator.

Our caveman leader used these same principles:

  • Time: Hunting in the rain meant they could relax later

  • Quality: The antelope were less vigilant in the rain

  • Cost: They'd expend less energy hunting

The Wealth Formula

I break it down to this: 'W = FE + PV x L'. Wealth (W) comes from a fair exchange (FE), adding perceived value (PV), and then scaling it up with leverage (L).

Most people don't buy unless the perceived value meets their expectations. If I try to sell you a regular cup of Earl Grey tea for $40, it won't seem fair—unless it's infused with hand-picked Borneo leaves, presented in a gold-plated cup, and promises transformation.

Bridging the Gap: From Existence to Desire

The heart of any sale is this simple journey: from the Existing Situation to the Desired Situation.

Your role is to be the architect of that bridge, using your product as the keystone spanning the chasm between 'what is' and 'what could be'.

Understanding Your Customer's Journey

To truly resonate with your audience, you must understand your Minimal Viable Offer (MVO). Ask yourself:

  • Who is my ideal customer?

  • Where do they hang out online?

  • What challenges do they face?

  • How does my product provide a solution?

  • Are they even aware of their problem?

  • What language and cultural nuances will they respond to?

Armed with this knowledge, you can craft copy and media that doesn't just capture attention but holds it, guiding your audience to realize your offering is essential.

Why E-Commerce Works Now

E-commerce wasn't a thing for 99.99% of human history until the last 20 years. This makes it such a valuable proposition today.

Let's compare:

  • Traditional shopping: Driving to stores (time), browsing (time), carrying items (effort), paying retail margins (cost), transporting home (effort, cost, time)

  • E-commerce: Browse online (seconds), buy (seconds), get delivery (1-3 days)

The effort and sacrifice are drastically reduced for the customer. The value proposition is 10x in favor of e-commerce.

Companies like Amazon have decreased the friction of leaving your home. With 1-2 clicks on your mobile, items arrive at your door.

This convenience is what incentivizes customers. People have less time than ever, so cutting out in-person shopping is incredibly valuable.

Remember, convenience is king. Removing friction and providing an effortless way to order is how commerce is moving. If you're not capitalizing on this opportunity, you'll be left behind.
